Cuba en Miami: Get a Taste of the Food!
Your trip to Miami is not complete without savoring the delicious Cuban food. After all, Cuba has been an important influence on the growth of this beautiful city. With so many options, where to go? Not to worry! These are my favorite spots:
- ENRIQUETAS: Located in the Midtown area, this is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. It has a small window that we call “la ventana” for easy cortado, colada or regular coffee a la grab-n-go and of course they serve the classic Cuban dishes for lunch and have the best pan con bistec in the city. 186 NE 29th St. Miami 33137
- SERGIOS: Located on Coral Way, for over 40 years has served delicious sandwiches and Cuban food and now has an empire of multiple branches, some open 24 hours to satisfy the midnight munchies after going out. www.sergios.com
- EL PALACIO DE LOS JUGOS: More of a Market than restaurant, El Palacio, which has several locations throughout the city, offers counters of traditional Cuban food and of course fresh fruit juices. One of the most popular dishes are pork rinds. Because they have several vendors, make sure to go through each counter to order the specialty of each one. www.elpalaciodelosjugos.com
- PUERTO SAGUA. A point of reference in South Beach, Puerto Sagua opened its doors in 1962. There is a counter next to the main door and a dining room with a colorful 3-D painting of Old Havana, work of the famous Skull Sisters, decorating the wall back for 40 years. I remember coming here the first time in 1995. The famous dish of Ropa Vieja, minced meat, is one of the favorites and my suggestion. puertosagua.restaurantwebexpert.com
- VERSAILLES: The iconic restaurant has been serving authentic Cuban food for more than 40 years. It also has a bakery and the famous “ventanita” where in addition to buying your coffee to go, has been the center of conversation for the Cuban community in Miami. Versailles is a popular restaurant among local Cuban exiles and tourists for its Cuban cuisine and its connection to anti-Castro politics.

Tu viaje a Miami no es completo sin saborear la deliciosa comida cubana. Despues de todo Cuba ha sido una importante influencia en el crecimiento de esta hermosa ciudad. Con tantas opciones, donde ir? No te preocupes! Aqui te dejamos los clasicos y favoritos entre locales.
- ENRIQUETAS: Localizado en la zona de Midtown, este es uno de mis lugares favoritos para ir de desayuno. Cuenta con una ventanita para la hora del cafecito por supuesto sirven los platos clásicos cubanos para almuerzo y tienen el major pan con bistec de la ciudad. 186 NE 29th St. Miami 33137
- SERGIOS: Localizado en la Coral Way, por más de 40 años ha servido deliciosos sandwhiches y comida cubana y ahora cuenta con un imperio de multiples sucursales algunas abiertas 24 horas para satisfacer los antojos de media noche. www.sergios.com
- EL PALACIO DE LOS JUGOS: Mas un Mercado que restaurant, El Palacio, que tiene varias locales a traves de la ciudad, ofrece counters de comida tradicional cubana y por supuesto jugos de frutas frescas. Uno de los platos mas populares son los chicharrones. Al tener varios vendedores, asegurate de ir por cada counter para ordenar la especialidad de cada uno. www.elpalaciodelosjugos.com
- PUERTO SAGUA. Un punto de referencia de South Beach, Puerto Sagua abrió sus puertas en 1962. Hay un mostrador junto a la puerta principal y un comedor con una colorida pintura en 3-D de La Habana Vieja, obra de las famosas Skull Sisters, decorando la pared trasera desde hace 40 años. - VERSAILLES: El icónico restaurante lleva sirviendo autentica comida cubana por mas de 40 años. Cuenta ademas con una panadería y la famosa “ventanita” donde ademas de comprar tu cafecito para llevar, ha sido el centro de conversación para la comunidad cubana de Miami. Versalles es un restaurante popular entre los exiliados cubanos locales y los turistas por su cocina cubana y su conexión con la política anticastrista. 3555 SW 8th St. Miami 33135
